2016年 感恩节见证

It is a good year.

I am thankful that God has planted church wherever I am. Our Lord is faithful; (Matthew 7: 7) “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you”.

I am thankful for God to have me, my lovely wife, and my kids grow in His love.

I am thankful for my church, in teaching God’s discipleship to me and my wife; in nurturing Aliya and Cirila with God’s words.

I am thankful that we went back to China in June and visited our families, that had not seen for 12 years. Our kids finally had a taste of spoiled love that cannot be matched in U.S. 12-year is such a long time, I am thankful that our big families in China have doubled or even tripled, just like my small family.

I am thankful that we were able to see two elders who passed away later this year. They were able to see another generation of the family before heading to the home in heaven.

I am thankful that I met friends growing up with me there since kindergarten, but had not seen for 10, 15 and even 20 years. I am extremely thankful that they are now pillars of China. Together with older generation, they have made China a better place. And many of they are trying to promote a citizen society in China by their own initiatives.

I am thankful that I reconnected with fellows in my college fellowship group, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of USTC Fellowship. During the video conference, I learned that some of them have become pastors, missionaries, doing God’s work in the field. More thankfully, many of them are employing Christian values to change the people around them. I am so thankful that God is answering our prayers for China. God is using our people for his purpose. God is faithful, “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God” (Deuteromony 7:9)

I am thankful that God is always with me just like He was with Joseph, “because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.” (Genesis 39:23) Thinking of similarity between Joseph and me: in a foreign country, as a minority, so many different traps, struggles and even fights. Joseph cannot live through them without God, neither do I. I am that person on our Lord’s shoulder when He was carrying me through the dismays, leaving only His pair of deep footprints in the muddy beach.

All thanks and glories to my Lord Christ, He has always there been with me, not just giving new life to me, but a prosperous one. He also told me “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23). Amen.
